Aviation Repair Technologies company to locate at the old Blytheville Air Force Base
I just found an article online discussing the new industry coming to Blytheville. This article is written in the Arkansas Business.com website by Mark Friedman.
This new plant is expected to cost about $20,000,000 and projected to hire between 310 and 440 workers within 3 years. The average pay is projected to be $20 an hour.
The location for this new venture is the Arkansas Aeroplex(old Blytheville Air Force Base) where there is a very nice 10,000+ ft long runway. Sometimes I practice IFR approaches into this runway. I assume that this will no longer be allowed once they start construction.
The lady I was talking to about this said she wished all these employees would relocate in and around Blytheville but she knew that many would choose to live in Dyersburg,Tennessee because of the excellent housing, schools, shopping and doctors.
Dyersburg will indeed benefit tremendously from many of these new workers choosing to live in the Dyersburg area. As I have said in many posts in the past, Dyersburg is by far the relocation choice of many people working in the Blytheville area.
I plan to return here with more information as it becomes available!
