Dyersburg has had its ups and downs but overall we continue moving forward. I believe a part of this forward movement is due to a great chamber of commerce and staff that leads our chamber.

About a week ago a guy called about renting an apartment and I asked him where he works. He told me he was coming to the Dyersburg Mall to remodel the space previously rented by Goody's Dept.Store.

He told me the name of the new store coming is Burke's Outlet. I told him I have never heard of it and he asked me if I have ever been to Bealls or Beall's Outlets in Florida. I told him my wife and I travel to Destin quite a bit and she shops at Bealls there and just loves it. He told me if she loves Bealls just wait till Burkes opens in a few short weeks. With this new store comes more jobs to Dyersburg and that is always a good thing! Remember you heard this great news here first.

The Dyersburg real estate activity is rushing to close out year end. I don't remember ever having the last half of December being so busy. I have two separate deals with the buyers and sellers rushing to close.

The biggest reason for one of my buyers rushing is because of his interest rate lock. He locked in his rate for 30 days and the rate has gone up one percentage point since the lock was set.

In the Dyersburg real estate market statistics post I did a few weeks ago I indicated this year would match last year but it just might surpass the sales of 2009 due to this late surge of activity.
