Today is December 30,2011 And Several Closings Haven't Happened Yet

Today is Friday December 30, 2011 and we have several Dyersburg real estate closings that did not happen yet.

I personally have 3 house deals that were supposed to close this month but small glitches have these closings happening early 2012.

Almost all of my agents have experienced the same problem but we expect everyone of them to close very soon.

Sometime early next week I will write a post giving you the final sales numbers for the Dyersburg real estate MLS for 2011.

Have a happy and prosperous New Year!

Dyersburg Real Estate Market Sales Increasing

For the last 6 or 7 weeks the Dyersburg real estate market sales have been increasing. I would like to say it is because the national economy is recovering but I do not believe that to be the case. I do believe however that there are signs of life in the local economy as 2-3 local plants have been hiring and steel mill related plants across the river have been doing pretty well.

I really believe the current business is mostly just pent up demand and record low interest rates. I did close a nice home sale on Friday to the controller of a local plant. He moved here almost a year ago and has been renting from me until the right deal came along. His interest rate on a 30 year mortgage is around 4%.

Perhaps you are moving to the Dyersburg area but not quite ready to purchase until you find that "perfect" deal. We can help with a rental(like we did for the guy up above)until you get to know the area and are ready to "jump".

Get ready for Dyersburg to grow grow grow

I received a google alert yesterday and read the alert and it was an article written on another blog about a piece of property that I sold and closed on Friday. My friend and fellow realtor Jimmy wrote about my sale (thank-you Jimmy) and I have copied and pasted a portion of his post here:

----Hwy 51 Bypass
Yesterday's sale on the Hwy 51 Bypass tells the whole story. Dyersburg real esate is more valuable now than ever. The records show that a parcel of land on the 51 Bypass - East sold for $175,000. It has 135' of road frontage and is approximately 2/3 of an acre. That's right at $1,300 per front foot on the Bypass.----

In an earlier post I mentioned that the commercial activity was about to really get going. This commercial lot that sold on Friday is just the tip of the iceberg. There are ongoing negotiations on other commercial land parcels so please come back as I expect more exciting news on commercial land purchases as well as news of other industries relocating to the Dyersburg area.
